Usually of a narrative nature, my work varies from watercolor, ink and collage books to paper and wood reliefs and larger works painted on canvas. Recent projects include Animal Scientists and Campus Inhabitants.

A native of San Diego, I teach drawing, painting and illustration for UCSD Extended Studies, and have taught painting, drawing, and contemporary art courses for the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Facultad de Artes in Ensenada, Baja California. I graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in anthropology and visual arts in 1984, went to Mexico City to study painting, and completed an MA in visual arts at UNAM´s Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas in 1988.
